Alan James has been a volunteer with the Stoney Creek Environment Committee in Burnaby since 2001, most recently as Member-at-large for Education. He had a long career as an exploration geophysicist in the Alberta oilpatch followed by several years as a computer consultant. He has a BA in Physics and Chemistry from UBC, and an MA in Geophysics from the University of Toronto. Besides his streamkeeping activities, he advocates for changes in how we deal with toxic road salt in Canada.
