Public Lab weekly newsletters are back with quite a few updates ranging from upcoming events to Infragram progress and new Public Lab chapter announcements. Enjoy!

Announcements

Thanks for helping us reach our 2013 end of the year fundraising goal! If you missed the last call for donations, check out the 2013 slideshow on some of the top accomplishments of the year.

Infragram webcams are expected to arrive in Portland this week, check out the recently posted Kickstarter update for more information.

EPA Region Two, covering New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, just announced that they have launched a new citizen science website.

Upcoming events

There will be a Gulf Coast MapKnitter Club meeting on January 23rd. Details are being posted and updated on the Gulf Coast Google Group.

DredgeFest Louisiana is going on now! If you’re in the area, we encourage you to check out the program, which includes maps created by Public Lab Gulf Coast members.

Public Lab will be at the National Council for Science and the Environment’s 14th National Conference in DC the last weekend of January. If you’re planning on being in attendance, please swing by the Public Lab booth. We’re also looking for volunteers to help out! If you’re interested, email Jeff@publiclab.org.

The 2014 Citizen Cyberscience Summit is coming up in February and will be well attended by Public Lab members.

New and ongoing projects

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to the new Public Lab Spanish chapter. You can join the Spanish Google Group (laboratoriopublico@googlegroups.com) or follow the group on Twitter at @PublicLabEsp.

There’s been quite a bit of ongoing testing of the Infragram.org website over the last few weeks. Get involved and and receive updates on progress by joining the Infrared Google Group.
