Public Lab is an open community which collaboratively develops accessible, open source, Do-It-Yourself technologies for investigating local environmental health and justice issues.
Title VI? who is engaged and who is not? the FACA is pretty specific, and i doubt that all sectors under FACA are engaged or have been claimed to be engaged.

My understanding is that anonymous reporter notified EPA and they used it as fact as to not have to proceed [with the development?] of an official CAG which was underway
that is horrid. i would come back to EPA using FACA as a standard; it's a higher standard, but if EPA doesn't want to do a CAG...did they publish notice of the Community Advisory Group in Bayou Casotte? how was it defined?
The goal is to have an official CAG, right? First of all, Id reach out to the reporter and tell him how his mis-reporting of this issue has caused harm to your community. Tell him the goal is to have an official CAG, and ask him to reissue another factual story. If he does, then you have something to go back to the EPA with. if he wont for some reason (but why wouldnt he if he is a reliable reporter?). Tell him you intend to send out your own press release explaining what happened. Send a copy to the EPA. btw- each EPA region has their own community liason.. find out who that is and start connecting with them too. hope this helps.

So, an EPA rep is using a reporters comment as a fact? Is the community involved at all?
