Hi! I bought the kit infragram I wanted to mount on the camera of a drone DJI Phantom 3 (it's practically a gopro HERO3), I wanted to know if I can remove the IR filter in front of CCD and insert the infragram filter in front of the optics, as a classic ND1 filter. So you can switch between red lens and blue lens. Or they are forced to add in front of the CCD. Also, if you could, that formula can be used for processing with the NDVI Agisoft PhotoScan. Thank you

I need some help with your questions.
What is the name of the product you bought from Public Lab?
Do you want to modify the camera on your DJI Phantom 3?
Do you want to open up that nice camera and remove the IR cut filter and replace it with a filter from the Infragram filter kit?
I don't know how hard it is to replace the IR cut filter in that camera. I don't know how good the photos are after the filter has been replaced.
The formula for NDVI is (NIR-red)/(NIR+red). I don't know how to compute NDVI in Photoscan.

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. The kit "DIY Plant Analysis Filter Kit" consists of a red and a blue gelatin. Yes, I want to change the Phantom camera 3, in fact I have already done, the first question that I was born (I'll put the blue one or the red one?) I put the red. But to have the possibility of a variety of use, I would remove it and insert it into the filter that is in front of 'goal, but I do not know if this can be done. In short, to do some 'of experiments with different types of filter. I send you a picture made at a height of about 60 meters with the change I made. Then tell me if it is of acceptable quality? I build drones and I have a lot of experience on this field of optical change. Kind Regards

Mario,
After the internal filter has been removed, a new filter can be used either inside the camera or in front of the lens. It's hard to keep the filter clean and free of scratches when it is in front of the lens, but it makes it easy to test filters. The red filter has some advantages over the blue filter: https://publiclab.org/notes/nedhorning/11-01-2013/why-a-red-filter-should-work-well-for-ndvi

Photoscan can stitch photos together and output a single composite image. That image could be converted to NDVI using the Photo Monitoring plugin for Fiji: https://publiclab.org/notes/nedhorning/01-13-2016/packaged-photo-monitoring-plugins-available-on-the-github-repositoy

Photos can be dragged into research notes or comments. The photo will be uploaded and code will be inserted into your text where the cursor was. Click "Preview" to see your photo.

I have recently bought Mobius Action Camera - Factory Modified Infrared from Public Lab store.....i have a DJI phantom 3 professional version..i have somewhat attached the camera to the drone through some straps (no gimbal attachment). When i fly the drone in the field i saw there are some distortions in the image....i suppose the camera is stable but how can i correct those distortions? I customized the action camera to take timelapse every 1 sec to take continuous photo of banana farm. My mission is to stich those multiple image using Agisoft and compute the NDVI...I tried to stich but the quality of stich is poor due to the distortion. Please suggest how can i minimize such image distortion.

Thanks in advance
