Join others from Public Lab during a small gathering we're aptly calling WinterCamp 2013 as we work on completing and refining the oil spill toolkit. More details to come, but information on the schedule below.

January 6: Arrive in New Orleans January 7-13: Work from the Propeller co-working space in Central City New Orleans January 13: Transit to Cocodrie January 14-18: Work from the LUMCON facility in Cocodrie, LA, approx. 2 hours southwest of New Orleans. January 19: Depart from New Orleans

What we'll be working on

• Writing up a mapping protocol- data chain of custody for mapping so that maps can be used as an official record;
• Documenting kite and balloon flying from boats so that people can get comfortable with this;
• Tutorials, workshop models and curriculum;
• Preliminary hydrocarbon field assay using the spectrometer kit;
• Outreach and advocacy guides;
• Safety protocols- with Public Lab equipment and around oil;
• Describe concept of "toolkits" more fully so it can be modeled for other toolkits
