Reporting back from a great day at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program (NYU ITP)! Together with another part of NYU called the Center for Urban Science and Progress (NYU CUSP), they hosted a Science Hack Day as part of World Science Festival. Original event listing here: http://publiclab.org/notes/liz/05-13-2013/science-hack-day-nyc-balloon-mapping-workshop
Will Ward came down from Boston to help lead the workshop. We met inside to build rigs and set up cameras, then went out to Washington Square Park. Many people made this happen, here are just a few: Henry Wong, Eduardo Minera, Sander van der Waal of the Open Knowledge Foundation, Swai Simpkins -- incredible map stitching! Daniel Lombrana Gonzalez (Teleyinex) of crowdcrafting.org, Steve Sholtz of World Science Festival. Special thanks to Francois Grey of NYU CUSP and CERN.

Awesome view of my 'hood. I was at the Festival with my family on Sunday, so I think I missed you on Saturday (out on Jamaica Bay kitemapping).
