this event got rained out. but we still visited the site, and I hope Phil took pictures of the massive dust storm kicking up off the Southern Scrap pile!!!!

22 may, 2013, high wind event as front descends from Northwest

Brown dust seen billowing south(east)ward from Southern Scrap seen from Bienvenue Triangle Platform.

Also, Brown dust seen billowing from Water Treatment Plant.

Wind Speed @KNEW MAX 29mph Gusting to 41

"It's looking West from the Bayou Bienvenue viewing platform. It's not that obvious, but the reddish smudge just above the tree line is the dust cloud. You can see it sort of obscuring the high tension power line tower to the left. Wind is blowing from right to left."
