Barataria Bay is growing rapidly, as the northern rim marshes lose land rapidly from accelerating erosional forces.  BP's oiling was very heavy in these areas, which were and continue to be difficult to clean without destroying outright.  BP's oiling is accelerating the erosional process in this area. This photographic effort and mapping allows us to show that in great detail to a mass audience, and hold BP accountable for its damages, despite its massive Public Relations campaign and close ties to the US government.<br>

Eventually, the State of Louisiana plans to restore these "Rim" marshes (SMP 2012 A-2 page SE-23, project 002.MC.07, $216 million).  Therefore, it is vitally important to record how the oil is affecting the erosion of these marshes, so that that project has the highest change of success.<br>
